Job Description
The primary responsibility of the Direct Care Staff is to provide a safe, quality, professional, and caring service. They will be required to promote the highest level of independence and enhance the quality of life for all individuals residing in our programs.
This includes:
- Supervising residents within all specifications set forth in their Individual Service Plans (ISP), Behavioral Support Plan (BSP), and Behavioral Intervention Plan (BIP)
- Being a positive role model and promoting a clean facility by ensuring that the environment is homelike and promotes independence for residents
- Providing personal care services as outlined in the residents' ISP, including lifting and transferring residents as needed
- Planning and participating in community and in-facility activities
- Orientating oneself to evacuation procedures, grievance procedures, and program statements
- Communicating comprehensive and accurate reports through verbal and written skills
- Providing safe transportation for residents as delegated by direct supervisors
- Administering and monitoring medications according to orders prescribed by resident physicians
- Attending training mandated by Abilities, Inc. Administration
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Have achieved a High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Pass a criminal background check or show proof of rehabilitation
- Be available to work 8 hour shifts every other Saturday and Sunday
- Be free and clear of communicable diseases

Please note:
- You will be required to report any maintenance concerns to your program supervisor immediately
- You will be responsible for logging yourself in and out when reporting and leaving work
- You will be required to have an initial TB skin test placed and read after 72 hours prior to reporting for work
