Our current vacancies:The Animal Services Division's clerical positions provide customer service support to the community. Duties typically include answering phones, assisting with adoption paperwork and processing licensing fees. While the position does not directly handle animals, it is located at the Animal Shelter. The Behavioral Health Department provides a variety of professional mental health and substance use disorder assessment, diagnosis, therapy, counseling, education, and community outreach services to clients in the community, schools, clinics, jail, juvenile hall, and inpatient settings. Administrative staff support clerical functions in our clinics and offices to allow our department to provide service to the community. The Department of Social Services' Participant Services Division administers eligibility programs such as CalFresh, Medi-Cal, CalWORKs, Foster Care, and General Assistance. The administrative assistants working in our clerical units are integral parts of our division, as they are the first persons our participants interact with when they first apply. The Department of Social Services' Children's Services Division is dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of children and youth of our community who face risks of abuse, neglect, or exploitation through a range of programs and services. The administrative assistants in the Children's Services division support social workers and other Department staff in ensuring children, teens, and families in the community receive needed referrals and services to support safety, permanency and wellbeing. The Probation Department is responsible for providing community corrections services, which are mandated by law. The administrative assistants will provide customer service support for the department. The Public Health Department promotes, preserves and protects the health of all San Luis Obispo County residents through disease surveillance, health education, direct services, and health policy development.
