As a Case Manager, you're not just offering services-you're offering hope, guidance, and the tools for lasting change. Whether you're helping a parent find housing, supporting a child's healing journey, or connecting a family with legal or medical resources, every action you take moves them closer to stability and safety. Here's What You'll Get To Do:
  • Empower families by providing personalized case management support, helping them access housing, employment, legal aid, medical care, and more.
  • Lead with compassion as you guide new clients through intake and orientation, developing a safety plan tailored to their unique situation.
  • Be their advocate, facilitating bi-weekly family meetings and weekly check-ins with heads of household to ensure each family's needs are heard and met.
  • Support children's well-being through weekly observations that help track progress and ensure their emotional and physical safety.
  • Keep things organized and accountable by ensuring Client First data is always accurate and up to date. Your documentation helps us track success and tell our story through reports and statistics.
  • Make healing possible by leading weekly process groups and/or events using a variety of psychotherapy approaches (e.g., cognitive-behavioral, psycho-educational, client-centered) and based on systems theory and domestic violence research.
  • Be ready for anything, respond appropriately to emergency situations, utilizing de-escalation and conflict resolution skills. Provide court advocacy and court testimony as needed.
  • Stay connected, you'll work closely with other community organizations and agencies, building referral relationships to help clients access broader services.
  • Keep learning, you'll stay current on best practices in domestic violence, crisis theory, and community resources, including assessments of danger, and resources of direct solution through regular training and workshops.
  • Be a team player, you'll join weekly case staffing, share insight, collaborate with fellow experts, and train, supervise, and support volunteers and interns as assigned.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate, adaptable, and committed to helping families break the cycle of violence. Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus but not required. You will work an assigned schedule with some flexibility, and you may be required to provide support during other hours. Other Duties: Performs other job-related duties as assigned. QualificationsWhat You'll NeedMaster's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field with at least (2) two years of experience working in a crisis intervention and/or domestic violence agency ORBachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field with at least (4) four years of experience in a crisis intervention and/or domestic violence field, and any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Licenses and Certifications: Valid Texas Driver's License Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge and understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence affecting individuals and families.
  • Knowledge of the legal process for family violence and an understanding of the legal documents presented to clients, and an understanding of child protective services.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and/or trauma theory.
  • Knowledge of de-escalation techniques when working with clients.
  • Skilled at working with Microsoft Office Word and Outlook; experience working with and entering data into client databases.
  • Ability to relate to different cultural and religious backgrounds
  • Ability to relate compassionately and with empathy towards clients through active listening skills, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work individually and in a collaborative team environment, sharing information and knowledge that best helps the clients to succeed.
  • Ability to follow all safety and precautionary rules and measures for the safety of the clients and for oneself.
  • Ability to multitask, organize, prioritize, and effectively and efficiently manage one's time under stressful situations.
  • Ability to set healthy boundaries when working with clients.
  • Ability to maintain and preserve client confidentiality.
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends.
Mental and Physical Abilities:
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as stooping, reaching, bending, and climbing to interact with clients, including children, and the ability to carry up to 25 pounds. Most activities in this position are in a sitting position,but may require some standing.
  • Ability to drive safely and transport clients in the company vehicle.
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends to meet the needs of the clients
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
Working Conditions: Work may be performed in an office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like, but not limited to the office environment.
