The job duties of the Temporary Laborer for the Materials Lab include but are not limited to:
General labor support for the materials and soils operations
Assisting with the handling and preparation of materials for testing
Assist with maintaining, calibrating and documenting materials lab equipment to ensure equipment is ready for use, ensuring accuracy and equipment life is maximized
Assist soils crew in drilling and or coring operations as needed so that work can be carried out efficiently
This position is temporary and expected to last approximately 6 months at this time.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of a Class D Driver's License
Working knowledge of English sufficient to read, write, speak, and understand oral and written information; communicate with employees and the general public in-person or via two-way radio and other electronic devices; and to maintain routine written logs and simple records.

When performing lab testing activities: The physical demands of this job will vary, but typically requires occasionally lifting articles such as 50 pound material samples, and frequent lifting and/or carrying objects or materials such as aggregate, bituminous, concrete samples in various shapes and weights. This job may require walking or standing to significant degree or may involve sitting most of the time with pushing and pulling of arm and leg controls.
When performing soils crew activities: The physical demands of this job will vary, but typically requires occasionally lifting articles such as 75 pound auger flights and frequent lifting and/or carrying objects such as drilling and sampling equipment. This job may require walking or standing to significant degree or may involve sitting most of the time with pushing and pulling of arm and leg controls.
