In this role, you will create a welcoming and respectful atmosphere by practicing equity-minded, student-centered advising. You will recognize and value each student's unique strengths and background, tailoring your guidance to meet students where they are and leveraging their individual social capital. Advisors empower students to take ownership of their learning, assist with course selection and registration, and connect students to campus activities and opportunities related to their major. Key responsibilities include maintaining consistent communication with assigned students, using data to monitor academic progress, and conducting degree audits to ensure timely completion of requirements. You will identify when students need additional support and refer them to appropriate campus resources, always maintaining confidentiality of student records. Additionally, you will educate students about university structures, policies, and practices to help them successfully navigate their academic experience. • Must have earned a Master's degree.

Skills required:

• Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, current and prospective students, parents, and families.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to problem solve and utilize campus resources for individuals and groups.
• Ability and willingness to work in a changing environment.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
