The Resident Initiatives Coordinator will do the following:
- Coordinate support services, provide case management and planning for residents of the local housing authority and Section 8 participants
- Coordinate all aspects of a self-sufficiency program
- Perform liaison work between public and private local community support organizations and residents of the public housing developments and Section 8
- Create service plans for identified residents and will be responsible for finding the needed service, educating the residents, and providing all follow-through
- Work with outside agencies, family, and staff, and create a group of volunteers to provide support in the areas including, but not limited to parenting, housekeeping, resident conflict resolution, socialization, fulfilling lease obligations, transportation, health, assistance and counseling.
- Assist with grant proposals and implementing new grants
Desired Education, Skills and Experience:
- Need someone with experience in all of the above, especially with case management
- Prefer a degree in Social Work, Sociology and Psychology or other relevant degree
- Need someone who can multi-task and juggle many things at one time
- Person has to be a great communicator
- Person has to want to be in this field for the right reasons
