Salary : $39,083.20 Annually Location : OH 45417, OH Job Type: Full-time Regular Job Number: MDC06253 Department: MONDAY COMMUNITY CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTION Opening Date: 08/01/2025 Internal Only: No Position Overview Under general supervision is responsible for the timely and efficient completion of operational duties as assigned or directed. Ensures the safety and security of residents, staff and facilities. Assists in creating and fostering an environment conducive to the treatment, operational and administrative goals and mission of the MonDay program. Summary of Job Duties Essential Duties and Responsibilities OPERATIONS DUTIES: • Answers phones, doors; conducts segregation checks and eye counts. • Distributes medication and mail. • Monitors phone calls; showers, meals and work details. • Prepares and submits incident reports on any unusual happenings. • Performs intervention/disciplinary actions. • Logs necessary information in shift and resident logs. • Attends mandatory staff/shift meetings, and all necessary training. • Exchanges pertinent information with other shifts. • Takes appropriate action in regard to Emergency Evacuation Drills. SECURITY: • Follows all policies and procedures related to security, i.e. accounts for all keys, conducts security checks, performs pat downs, strip searches, shake downs, collects random urine samples, etc. INTAKE: • Conduct intake process of new residents. • Complete appropriate paperwork. • Provide orientation for new residents on rules and regulations of the MonDay program. BEHAVIORAL MANAGEMENT: • Utilize MonDay's behavioral management system, principles of effective interventions, and best practice guidelines to decrease unwanted behaviors. TRANSPORTATION: • Transports residents to designated off ground sites. • Remains with and monitors high risk residents during off site appointments. MAIN CONTROL DUTIES: • While assigned in Main Control, you are considered to be the Point of Contact. • Monitors/Controls doors, intercoms and cameras around the facility. • Answer phone calls and verifies visitors who arrive at the Main Building Entrance. • Keep eye count, Report/Track resident movement around the facility. • Responsible for maintaining the schedule and tracking all transportation of residents. Working Conditions • Potential exists of exposure to disease/illness. • This is a minimum security facility, therefore all outside access doors are locked at all times. • Typical full time shifts are 12-hours; total of 84 hours bi-weekly. Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. • Ability to lift, pull, push, and manipulate equipment. • Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time. • Ability to operate an automobile. • Bending, lifting forty (40) pounds upward. • Restrain disorderly residents. Minimum Qualifications and Requirements An appropriate combination of education, training, course work and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate required knowledge, skills, and abilities. • High School diploma or equivalent required. • Associate Degree in Corrections preferred with knowledge and/or experience in corrections. • State of Ohio Motor Vehicle Operator's License required • Ability to read and write in order to perform daily correspondence and reports. • Interpersonal skills in order to maintain ordinary courtesy and tact to communicate professionally and effectively with staff, residents, callers, visitors and people of the courts. • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to details while monitoring and interacting with residents; knowledge of safety and security. • Knowledge and experience in the operation of PCs and common software packages desired. Seasonal Employees: Benefits include Sick Leave accrued at 4.6 hours for every eighty 80 hours in active pay status. Seasonal employees scheduled to work 40 hours during their period of employment will accrue vacation in the same manner as regular full-time employees and can use their vacation after completion of twenty-six (26) bi-weekly pay periods in active pay status. Part-time Seasonal employees (scheduled to work less than 40 hours) do not accrue vacation. Intermittent and Temporary Employees: Long-Term Sick Leave accrual is based on hours worked.
