Join UPMC Kane as a full-time Office Assistant I, supporting a growing provider practice with opportunities for advancement. Work Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with limited travel. Job Responsibilities Include:
Schedule, coordinate, and reschedule patient appointments accurately and efficiently.
Greet and register patients with professionalism, providing clear instructions and check-in/out support.
Answer incoming calls; screen, route, and relay messages promptly.
Verify and update patient demographics and insurance in electronic systems.
Maintain clean, welcoming waiting areas and refreshment stations.
Prepare patient charts and documentation ahead of appointments.
Ensure physician schedules are current and appointments are confirmed.
Complete encounter forms, referrals, and billing-related paperwork.
Safeguard patient confidentiality and comply with all UPMC policies.
Utilize financial management tools for scheduling, payments, and charge entries.
Required
High school diploma or GED
1 year work experience, preferably in a medical office setting
Preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology
Word processing and computer experience
