Piper Companies is looking for a Scheduler II to join a rapidly expanding preclinical Contract Research Organization (CRO) located in Muskegon, Michigan, with the potential for relocation assistance. Responsibilities of the Scheduler II include:
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of study schedules in alignment with protocols and SOPs.
- Manage contractor assignments, animal availability, and procurement of animals and supplies.
- Maintain and revise study calendars and scheduling systems to ensure efficient use of laboratory resources.
- Schedule and coordinate animal deliveries and communicate with relevant teams regarding room and animal availability.
- Maximize room utilization through strategic resource management and capacity planning.
- Review study protocols and collaborate with supporting departments to assess capabilities.
- Forecast laboratory capacity and assist in training Scheduler I team members.
- Identify and lead process improvement initiatives.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications for the Scheduler II include:
- Minimum education: High School Diploma or GED
- Preferred education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a scientific or related field
- 3-4 years of experience in a scientific setting, with at least 1 year of scheduling experience preferred
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook
- Experience with scheduling software or resource management tools preferred
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Solid understanding of preclinical lab operations, study design, and data collection
- Familiarity with GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) standards and federal regulations related to laboratory animal care preferred
- Ability to resolve complex issues and work effectively under time constraints
Compensation for Scheduler II includes:
- Rate Range: $26.00 - $40.00/hour
