DescriptionAbout the Role:Join our dedicated Laboratory Services team as a Clinical Laboratory Assistant 2 (CLA 2), where you'll play a key role in supporting essential lab operations during our evening/night shift. You'll be responsible for a variety of non-technical functions that are critical to the success of our lab-ranging from phlebotomy and specimen processing to registration and courier duties.Your Schedule:Shift: Rotating schedule - Week 1: 3 days on, 4 days off; Week 2: 4 days on, 3 days off.Hours: 7:30 PM - 6:00 AM (10-hour shifts)What You'll Do:Perform phlebotomy with strict adherence to safety and patient identification protocolsRegister patients and accurately enter lab orders based on provider documentationProcess, label, and track specimens for in-house and reference testingPrepare and handle 24-hour urine and other specialized specimensMaintain and monitor lab supplies, ensuring availability and expiration compliancePerform courier runs to transport lab materials and medical supplies as scheduledProvide support at Patient Service Centers, including documentation, order entry, and specimen handlingConduct home draw visits with a focus on safety and patient comfortAssist with office functions such as answering phones, managing faxes, and maintaining temperature logsDeliver excellent patient service through professional, compassionate communicationAdapt to changing responsibilities in a dynamic healthcare environmentWhat We're Looking For:High school diploma or equivalent preferredRequired: Valid driver's license meeting agency standardsRequired: Completion of CLA 1 competencies and one of the following:One year of laboratory experienceCurrent phlebotomy certificationDetail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and interpersonal skillsCommitment to safety, compliance, and exceptional patient carePhysical Demands:Frequent standing, walking, bending, and stoopingRegularly lift up to 20 lbs; occasionally lift up to 40 lbsModerate reaching and physical activity throughout shiftExposure Category:Category I: Position involves tasks with regular exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissuesMust follow all infection control and PPE protocolsIf you're looking to make a difference behind the scenes in patient care-and want a schedule that gives you daytime flexibility-this role is for you!SummaryAbout Us:Arnot Health offers patient-centered, comprehensive health services to the Southern Tier of New York.
