Ultrasound Technician
Under the general guidance of the physicians/providers, performs a variety of diagnostic ultrasonographic procedures.
Reports to: Operations Manager
FLSA: Non-exempt
Essential Functions:
- Receives patients, explains method of procedure and makes sure patient is comfortable.
- Provides patient services to all ages using imaging modalities.
- Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices.
- Maintains equipment and supplies and organizes work area.
- Keeps accurate records, helps with scheduling of the ultrasound and keeps patient flow smooth.
Nonessential Functions:
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service, projects and committees as assigned.
- Adheres to and supports policies and procedures of the STRHS.
- Works scheduled shifts including overtime, when necessary.
- Accepts all call schedule as directed.
- Maintains a neat and professional appearance in compliance to the existing dress code.
Organizational Expectations:
- Compliance to the STRH - Lawrenceburg Standards of Performance is required.
- Compliance to Dress Code Standards

Job Requirements:
- *Minimum Education: Associate's degree
- Preferred Graduate of a Program in Discipline Required
- *Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS may be obtained one week following orientation prior to patient care.)
- Licenses: Professional certification preferred.
