This is a non-benefited vacancy in the Department of Social & Youth Services for an average of 10 hours per week, including after-school, evening, and occasional weekend hours. Coordinate, develop, implement, and evaluate support services for DCF involved children living in Bloomfield with foster families, relative guardians or grandparentsand other Social & Youth Services programs and activities for the department. Participate in team focused and strengths-based delivery of programs and services that support positive involvement in the community, promote personal character and life skills development, and provide opportunities to enhance social skills and interpersonal relationships.
Essential Job Functions: (The essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed.)Bachelor's degree in human services, social work, psychology or related field desirable, plus two years' experience working with children, adolescents and families in a community setting or a High School Diploma or GED plussixyears' experience working with children, adolescents and families in a community setting. Valid Driver's License. Basic First Aid and CPR certification preferred. Applicants must have effective leadership, time management, organizational skills and strong case management, crisis intervention and advocacy skills. Experience in collaboration and advocacy with other youth and family serving agencies and providers. Experience with DCF involved children and families, preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Experienced in working with diverse populations. Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office.
