Southtowns Care Center is currently seeking a full time Maintenance Assistant. This position is responsible for ensuring resident and staff safety by being responsible for repairs to the buildings and furnishings, as well as up-keep of the grounds including lawn care and snow/ice removal.

Ø May be eligible for Union Benefits.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures.

• Manage heating and plumbing systems to guarantee functionality.
• Plan and schedule repairs.
• Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard.
• Perform general maintenance tasks including landscaping, painting, and carpentry.
• Clean and assist with upkeep of facility.
• Upkeep of grounds, including lawn care and snow ice removal.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 18 yrs. age required, HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Related work experience required.
• Basic knowledge of tools and their use.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry and painting skills.
• Valid Driver's License and clean driving record required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions required.

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods of standing and walking.

· Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend and crawl into awkward spaces.

· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
