Hours: 7:00-9:00 AM & 2:30 - 4:30 PM, will vary as needed, Monday-Friday Salary: $20.00-$23.00/hour Benefits will not be offered JOB DESCRIPTION Job Category: Board of Education Administration and Staff Position Title: Non-CDL Student Transportation Van Driver Reports to: Transportation Supervisor & Transportation Coordinator Job Goal: The Non-CDL Van Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting students to and from school. This position requires a reliable individual with a strong commitment to safety and student well-being.? The driver will operate a minivan and ensure that all passengers are transported in a safe and timely manner, following all traffic laws and school district policies. Qualifications:

Safely operate a school district minivan on assigned routes. Transport students to and from school, adhering to established schedules. Ensure the safety and well-being of all student passengers. Maintain order and discipline among students on the vehicle, following school district policies and procedures. Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, including checking fluid levels, lights, brakes, and tires. Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to the Business Administrator promptly. Maintain a clean and organized vehicle. Follow all traffic laws, school district transportation policies, and safety procedures. Communicate effectively with students, parents, school staff, and the Transportation Department. Assist students with boarding and exiting the vehicle as needed, ensuring their safety. Maintain accurate records of student ridership and routes as required. Respond to emergencies or delays in a calm and professional manner, following established protocols. Attend safety meetings and training sessions as required. Perform other duties as assigned by the Transportation Supervisor. PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Work requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time while driving and the ability to use hands and fingers to operate vehicle controls.? Position requires the ability to see, hear and speak clearly and ability to enter and exit the vehicle safely.? Employees must be able to assist students with boarding and exiting the vehicle and be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Work is performed primarily outdoors while driving a vehicle with exposure to varying weather conditions. Employees may be exposed to noise from students and fumes from vehicle exhaust. Terms of Employment: 10 months. Salary determined by the Board of Education at the recommendation of the Superintendent and in line with Board Policy.? Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status. Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with state law and the provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of certified staff.
