We are currently looking for a Full Time House Parent to join our Childrens Village Residential team located at the Chickasaw Children's Village.Summary:Works in conjunction with other house parents to provide a structured and caring environment for student's grades 1-12, with emphasis on Academic, Social, Cultural, Spiritual, and Physical well being. Provides live-in/on-site 24-hour presence/supervision to student cottages.Responsibilities:* Reports any unusual behavior, conflicts, or physical and mental health concerns to line of support* Seeks support from leadership when experiencing personal challenges impacting work performance* Provides orientation for new students and ensure all paperwork is complete* Maintains preparedness and cleanliness of the cottage and living areas* Maintains daily tasks and chore list for students and ensure completion* Keeps cottage stocked with necessary food and non-food items* Assists students with school and homework needs* Enforces structure of student schedules in regard to sleep habits, school and activities* Provides a structured and disciplined environment devoid of negative intervention methods* Assists students in learning and developing through daily living skills training* Ensures all student health and hygiene needs are met and attended to* Provides stable and caring guidance to meet the individual needs of student's emotional and social development* Prepares reports as needed or requested* Provides first class customer service - courteous and helpful to all internal and external customer types- Answers questions in a courteous and professional manner- Greets and engages with a smile- Determines needs, seeks positive experience and outcomes* Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities* Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types- Maintains general upkeep of work area and maintains a safe environment- Maintains and promotes professionalism- Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics- Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards* Maintains knowledge of and follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.* Performs all other duties as assignedCompetencies:Essential:* Ability to work effectively in a stressful environment or situation* Ability to recognize, interpret, and regulate your own emotions, and understand those of other people* Ability to use a trauma-informed approach with individuals, which promotes environments of healing and recovery* Demonstrates and prioritizes personal well-being and utilize available resources as needed to support others effectively* Able to follow instructions, both written and oral * Able to adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirements* Maintains strict confidentiality in all matters* Good driving record and be insurable by the Chickasaw Nation* Operate standard and automatic vehicles* Must be self-motivated* Honesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountability* Able to read, understand, apply, and retain knowledge of Chickasaw Nation, departmental, divisional and all other rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines* Ability to relate with youth, parents and training partners* Must have empathetic understanding of common social problems (i.e., addictions, mental health problems, domestic violence, sexual assault, etc.)* Organizes work and assigned area logically and orderly* Must be friendly with an outgoing personality* Ability to remain calm under stress* Establishes professional working relationships as appropriate* Works well within a team* Organizational and time-management* Ability to plan, organize and follow through on assignments* Able to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and management* Teach children various skills and knowledgeSkills:Essential:* Must be familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite of products* Demonstrates strong self-management skills, including maintaining a healthy work life balance to ensure quality customer serviceExperience:Essential:* 2 years directly related experienceEducation:Essential:* High School, GED or EquivalentCredentials:Essential:* Must be 21 years of age or older* Pass general background check* Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification (CPR)* Standard Driver's LicenseNonessential:* Class A Commercial Driver's LicenseWorking Conditions:Essential:* Residential setting* Potential exposure to cleaning fluids and solvents* Potential exposure to contagious diseases* Communication with groups* Effective work relationships inside and outside organization* Interacts with clinical, support, technical, professional or management staff in a variety of settings and situations* Interacts with young children* Pass pre-employment drug test* Must be legally married and able to provide documentation* Sometimes bend, kneel, stoop, push, reach* Able to drive assigned vehicle types* Sometimes lift and or carry up to 25 lbs* Light to non-strenuous work* 24/7 basis to include days, nights, weekends and holidays* Travel is primarily within Chickasaw Nation boundaries* Requires driving* Transport children* Must present proof of COVID-19 vaccination* Must not have charges or arrests for substance abuse related offenses within the past two years* If applicable, must have at least one year of sobriety* May be required to assist individuals who are under the influence* May be required to assist individuals with unmanaged emotions
