Role Overview: Our Calibration Level 3 Technicians perform calibration and repair of high-level and unique test and measurement instrumentation. This role may require specialization and training responsibilities. The position offers a potential parallel career path to leadership roles, with collateral duties assigned based on individual abilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and timely turnaround of equipment and services.
  • Perform calibration of high-level test and measurement equipment with minimal supervision, both in the lab and at customer sites.
  • Lead teams for field calibration and maintenance.
  • Generate and verify calibration data sheets for technical accuracy.
  • Develop calibration procedures meeting customer needs while supporting measurement traceability.
  • Complete documentation accurately, maintaining a low discrepancy rate.
  • Maintain technical proficiency through self-study, training, and testing.
  • Support laboratory functions as needed.
  • Assist in technician training and customer education.
  • Interface with customers regarding standards, test procedures, and repairs.
  • Assist QA in developing uncertainty budgets.
  • Perform equipment preventative maintenance.
  • Manage workload distribution in the absence of the Laboratory Manager.
  • Overnight travel may be required.

Requirements:

  • Two years of college with an AA in metrology preferred.
  • At least four years of experience in electronics, with a background in Metrology.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of metrology practices and circuit analysis.
  • Experience with test and measurement equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and repair skills, ability to work independently on complex equipment.
  • Proficiency in Windows and automation software.
  • Statistical knowledge for measurement uncertainty.
  • Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and ANSI/NCSL Z-540-1 standards.
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
  • Scissor lift operation experience is a plus.

Physical Demands:

  • Occasional lifting of up to 70 pounds.
