Must Haves:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Information Technology, or comparable experience
- 3+ years of experience as a product owner, business analyst, or in a related field
- Understanding of product management methodologies, technical understanding of digital products, and up-to-date on industry standards and best practices.
- Working knowledge of software development.
- Understand and translate business and user requirements, as well as technical considerations into processes and workflows.
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teams throughout the organization, as well as work independently with little or no direction.
- Ability to interpret technical language into business language and vice versa.
- Solid understanding of the product lifecycle and software development.
- Product management certification; Pragmatic Institute certification is a plus.
- Able to think strategically and make decisions in the best interest of the Credit Union.
Job Description:
The Digital Product Owner is responsible for maximizing the value of the current and future portfolio of digital services, providing proactive vendor, and internal stakeholder management with a relentless focus on the member experience. The purpose of this role is the attainment of the credit union's general, and specific to the digital channel, business objectives while advancing member experience (CX), adoption and channel satisfaction.
The Digital Product Owner will collaborate with the UX team, technical leads, project managers, business analysts, developers, and vendors to create, implement or mature digital solutions and ensure these solutions exceed the growing expectations of SSFCU's members. This role is the point person on the product development team, using their high-level perspective to define tactical goals and execute the digital channel vision. The Digital Product Owner communicates with and leading stakeholders across the board, including members, business managers, and the development team to make sure the goals are clear and the vision is aligned with Digital Services business objectives. This position will also provide a clear solution description and outline of product features for easy comprehension and consumption by the development team and business partners.
Additional Job Responsibilities:
- Manages stakeholder expectations by understanding their needs, delivering business value with each requested feature, and finding a balance when there are different stakeholder voices.
- Works with management to develop cohesive product vision and strategy; assists with vendor selection, and vendor management.
- Acquires and applies expert knowledge of the business needs to lead the alignment and development of business deliverable processes and capabilities.
- Responsible for creating a list of backlog items, and prioritizing them based on the overall strategy and business objectives.
- Responsible for managing the day-to-day activities related to various in-house built and third-party digital services that make up the credit union's digital ecosystem, and relevant documentation.
- Assists in mapping out digital project dependencies to inform the necessary sequence of development activities.
- Gains agreement with the business and Digital Services leadership on feature and defect prioritization, facilitating the optimal resource allocation by the internal and vendor teams.
- Maintains a positive working relationship with the immediate team, and those across the enterprise, based on trust and mutual respect, along with staying well informed about the team's progress and concerns.
- Oversees the development of documented acceptance criteria and keeps the team informed about changes.
- Responsible for developing business cases to capture and present business requirements, market research, and competitive analysis.
- Maintains expertise in digital products and roadmaps.
