Lead Graphic Designer – GoldLeaf Print & Packaging

GoldLeaf Print & Packaging is seeking a Lead Graphic Designer to head up our design process and drive excellence in graphics, proofing, and prepress. This role is perfect for a dynamic creative professional who has design expertise, leadership skills, thrives in an ever-changing environment, and has a passion for helping others adhere to design excellence.

As Lead Graphic Designer, you will not only produce engaging graphics and oversee prepress setup but work on an engaging team with other designers and packaging engineers, ensuring projects meet the highest standards for print and digital production.

Responsibilities

  • Support a collaborative team of graphic designers, providing mentorship and creative direction.
  • Create eye-catching graphics and engaging designs for a diverse client base.
  • Handle graphic projects from concept to final production.
  • Build and maintain a robust library of design files for a large clientele.
  • Collaborate with outside agencies, vendors, and internal sales teams.
  • Submit proofs for approval and prepare files for print, varnish, foil, and embossing.
  • Develop new dies/plates for production.
  • Work closely with sales reps and clients to ensure projects exceed expectations.
  • Define, guide, and implement best practices for prepress setups.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of graphic design experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator (heavy use required).
  • Strong prepress experience highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Demonstrated portfolio showcasing design versatility and prepress knowledge.
  • Excellent knowledge of digital file formats, workflows, and production best practices.
  • Acute attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to provide constructive feedback.
  • Experience collaborating across teams (sales, marketing, production).
  • Proven ability to balance creative innovation with client requirements.
