In-Room Dining Order Taker

Under the direction of the Food & Beverage Supervisor, the In-Room Dining Order Taker provides an exceptional guest experience through by interacting one on one with the guests over the phone, taking their orders, and completing transactions while upholding service standards at all times. This position serves as a team player by organizing amenity deliveries, preparing trays and carts for delivery, and organizing the tray retrieval process by maintaining contact with the IRD attendants, supervisors, and culinary team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Answers guest's calls in a timely manner and accurately places their order in the P.O.S. system. Handles all payments & cash transactions as outlined in the department training and procedures manual, inclusive of ensuring that all orders are paid for and received.
  • Assists with preparation of meals on trays and carts in alignment with organizational standards inclusive of Forbes 5 star expectations.
  • Understands and maintains knowledge of all food and beverage items. Accurately describes ordered items to the guest, including ingredients and possible allergens, as outlined in the culinary presentation guide. Upsells to guests when ordering to include beverages, side dishes and desserts.
  • Maintains stock in all areas. Keeps stations fully stocked with condiments, plastic ware, coffee, etc.
  • Assists team members and guests wherever possible.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
Education/Experience/Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience as a food server in high volume and/or fine dining environment is preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in a hotel environment is preferred.
  • Must pass initial and subsequent tests as required by the Food & Beverage department.
  • Must present a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance in accordance with departmental policy.
  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Must possess excellent customer service and communications skills.
  • Must be able to maintain service standards in high-pressure situations.
  • Maintain the passion necessary to execute best in class service to every guest.
  • Must be willing to assist team members and guests, as needed.
  • Must be reliable, pleasant and possess a good attitude.
  • Must have a warm, inviting and engaging personality and be comfortable in an entertainment setting.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations
  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  • Must obtain and maintain a current Food Handler's Card.
  • Will be required to obtain and maintain T.I.P.S Certification upon employment.
