Production employees at Smithfield handle materials and use hand tools, knives, machinery, and equipment to help deliver good food responsibly to Americas dinner table. Production team members at Smithfield perform physically demanding work that requires good hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, strength and stamina. Team members must be available to work scheduled hours, which may include mandatory overtime, depending upon production demands. Duties. Good customer service and communication skills. Good organizational skills and able to work independently. Effective time management and leadership skills. Able to work all positions. Able to work day or night shift as needed. Able to calculate, estimate and requisition food and supplies in large quantities. Receive, inspect, verify and accept food deliveries; and assure proper storage.
