About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Materials & Supply Chain Manager with a strong manufacturing background to lead our materials planning, procurement, inventory, and logistics functions. This role is critical to ensuring uninterrupted production flow, optimal inventory levels, and cost-effective supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will bring proven expertise in manufacturing supply chain management with a focus on efficiency, accuracy, and strategic vendor management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the supply chain function, including materials planning, scheduling, procurement, warehousing, and logistics.
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure a reliable supply of materials to support manufacturing demand.
- Oversee inventory control processes to maintain accurate stock levels while minimizing excess and obsolescence.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and delivery performance.
- Negotiate supplier contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve cost savings and supply security.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to align material availability with manufacturing requirements.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain processes, including LEAN practices and ERP optimization.
- Monitor key supply chain KPIs (inventory turns, on-time delivery, supplier performance, etc.) and drive improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements related to materials management.
- Manage and develop a high-performing team of supply chain and materials professionals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or related field (MBA or APICS/CPIM certification preferred).
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in materials management or supply chain within a manufacturing environment (automotive or industrial preferred).
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, MRP/ERP systems, and production planning.
- Proven track record in supplier negotiations, contract management, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
