*We are currently seeking accounting professionals with nonprofit/not-for-profit experience to support that client group. Both full-time and part-time options are available. The position offers a hybrid work model with flexibility to work remotely, on-site, or in our office in Rochester, NY.

Location: Rochester, NY office. Our space features modern amenities, collaborative areas, a recreation room, and firm-paid underground parking. We are close to restaurants, entertainment, and events.

About Outsource Accounting Services

With over 20 years of experience, our dedicated team supports our client base with services ranging from bookkeeping to budgeting and forecasting. We focus exclusively on outsourcing, providing clients with critical financial information and advice.

Responsibilities
  • Project-based accounting work for local clients, including recording journal entries, month-end close, A/P, A/R, payroll, bank reconciliations, etc.
  • Preparing full accruals and managing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Analyzing general ledger processes, resolving irregularities, and ensuring accurate financial statements.
  • Communicating reporting and compliance requirements with client departments, maintaining high service quality.
  • Assisting with financial statement reporting, cash flow, disclosures, and client budgets.
  • Coordinating with external auditors, tax preparers, supervising staff, and communicating with owners and financial institutions.
  • Reviewing operational, financial, and technological processes to assess risks and internal controls.
  • Involvement in establishing or upgrading accounting systems for clients.
Requirements

Associate's degree in Accounting is required; Bachelor's preferred. Minimum of four years of accounting experience, particularly in nonprofit/not-for-profit organizations or public accounting supporting such clients. Experience with bank reconciliations and month-end close is essential.

Supervisory skills and familiarity with QuickBooks Online, Intacct, and Bill.com are highly preferred. Strong communication, relationship-building, and multi-tasking skills are necessary. CPA or CMA is a plus but not mandatory.

Salary range: $70,000 - $90,000 annually. Compensation depends on skills, experience, and location, with potential bonuses based on performance.
