Pay: up to $25/hr DOE Specific Duties: 1. Administers field based Independent Assessments to beneficiaries. 2. Requires daily travel to and from appointments at Provider offices, beneficiary homes, and other community meeting locations within areas served by Arkansas Department of Human Services. 3. Communicates in a culturally sensitive manner to individuals whose support needs are being assessed within the mental health and/or developmentally disabled populations. 4. Prioritizes and organizes own work to meet deadlines. 5. Requires little assistance with standard and non-standard requests. 6. Works with supervisors to solve more complex problems. 7. Prioritizes and organizes own work to meet agreed upon deadlines. 8. Works with others as part of a team. Must have qualifications/experience: 1. Requires a bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field with experience in mental health counseling and/or working with developmentally disabled beneficiaries, psychology, or social work. 2. If primary role will be working with behavioral health beneficiaries, you must possess at least one year of working directly with the mental health population. Experience working with these populations in face- to-face settings is preferred. 3. If primary role will be working with developmentally disabled beneficiaries, must possess at least two years working directly with beneficiaries having developmental disabilities. Experience working with these populations in face-to-face settings is preferred. 4. Possess ability to meet any requirements of a Qualified Developmental Disability Professional (QDDP) if serving developmentally disabled beneficiaries. 5. Must possess and maintain a current, unrestricted driver's license and reliable transportation. 6. Must possess the ability to drive long distances, sit for 1-3 hours, and carry 5-10 pounds of equipment. 7. Must possess the ability to navigate a Windows based environment and create, edit, save, and send documents utilizing Microsoft Word; and the ability to navigate Outlook and conduct Internet searches. Physical Requirements: 1. The ability to transport 5-10 pounds regularly (lap top computer, hot spot, and cell phone). 2. The ability to drive long distances and sit for 1-3 hours at any point in time 3. The ability to respond quickly to sounds. 4. The ability to move safely in confined spaces. 5. The ability to see and respond to challenging situations. 6. The ability to navigate/drive in various weather situations. 7. The ability to display sound knowledge of road safety regulations. 8. The ability to display a working knowledge of local roads and routes. 9. The ability to utilize maps, GPS systems and car manuals. Shift Start/End Time: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday; starting at 7:30 AM (7:00 AM Tuesday) and limited evening or weekend appointments possible Requires daily travel to and from appointments at Provider offices, beneficiary homes, and other community meeting locations within a specific region of Arkansas How far will the talent be traveling in a day (Avg. distance) - Must live in one of the cities listed to be hired to work in that city. Will only travel up to 60 miles around your home base More context on the reason you're hiring these folks? - Functional assess is an entry way into assigning medicare services to beneficiaries across the state of AR. The assessment is part of their entry into this type of care, identify type of services they need to get the quality of life they want to have. Their client is AR Medicaid, DHS is Medicaid in AR. Has to start as contractors, get trained, possible to go FTE based on attendance/performance. Is documentation done at the location or after the appointment? - Behavioral health assessment, from start to finish 45-1 hour and are documenting real time. Connect to the network. Goal is to complete documentation right there. Sometimes will go out into the car where you finish up and put finishing touches on it. Start to finish once up to speed, 45-1 hour. Development Disabled (DD) assessment takes a little longer, 90 minutes or so - will know in the system if it's DD or behavioral. Will be cross trained to do both assessments. What metrics or KPIs are in place for this role? - Depends on in person versus telephonic, could be 6 a day (behavioral) for DD assessor 4-5. If all are telephonic 5 or 6 could be done in one day How many telephonic vs in person: they don't know, but if brand new referral and client has not had assessment it will be in person. Any ride alongs with training? - YES, last few days of training - Last few days are shadowing Sr. assessor. Then they are shadowed when they do few assessments. Typically training is 2 weeks, maybe 2.5 weeks. ALL VIRTUAL, until ride-alongs.
