Under limited general supervision of the Materials and Process Engineering technical leadership team and/or Program Chief Engineer, apply knowledge of engineering and scientific principles to resolve materials related issues, utilize six sigma techniques, lean manufacturing process knowledge and sound decision-making principles to perform the following duties:Participate in design reviews and customer technical interchange meetings. Support design process by providing material selection recommendations, creating material specifications, reviewing design drawings, reviewing manufacturing planning, providing supplier technical support and supporting Engineering Review Boards, Process Change Boards and. Failure Review Boards. Develop test plans and characterize non-metallic materials; identify, develop, and/or release material properties (design allowables) to support design and analysis engineering disciplines.
