A strategic partner to the Chief People Officer, this role leads payroll, compensation, and benefits for a growing, multi-state organization with approximately 800 employees. It requires hands-on leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to mentor a junior team.
Responsibilities include managing payroll across 40 states with full compliance, designing compensation structures and incentive programs, and overseeing benefits administration and broker relationships. The role also involves mentoring team members, optimizing systems and reporting (Workday preferred), and supporting change management and communication around total rewards initiatives.
Ideal candidates will have experience managing payroll in multi-state environments, a strong background in compensation strategy and market analysis, and a track record of mentoring staff. Technical proficiency in HRIS/payroll systems and advanced Excel skills are essential. A bachelor's degree is required; CPP or CCP certification is preferred.
The position is based in Van Nuys, CA, with a minimum of three days per week onsite
