Job Title: Nurse Manager (For locals $100 PER Hour)
Facility: Mount Sinai Health System
Location: New York, NY 10019
Start Date: 09/29/2025
Duration: 13 weeks contract (with possible extension )
Hours: 37.5 hours/week | 7.5 hours/day | 5 days/week
Shift: 7:00 AM β 3:00 PM (including weekends as needed)
Schedule Notes:
- Must have prior experience with addictions population (specialty requirement)
- MSN required
- Travel nursing leadership experience required

Must-Have Requirements
Education & Licensure:
- BSN required (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)
- MSN required (Master's in Nursing or health-related field)
- Active New York State RN license with current registration
Experience:
- 3β5 years nursing clinical care with charge nurse or supervisory experience (preferred)
- Relevant clinical competence in assigned specialty
- Leadership experience in patient care services, preferably in addiction treatment or behavioral health settings
- Prior travel experience in a leadership/management capacity (required)
π Key Job Duties
Patient Care & Experience:
- Lead nursing practice using Mount Sinai's Relationship Centered Care model and Modified Primary Nursing delivery model
- Ensure integration of Purposeful Hourly Rounding (PHR) into daily clinical practice; validate staff compliance through observation and feedback
- Conduct daily patient rounding (MonβFri) and follow up on patient concerns with appropriate service recovery
- Facilitate patient-centered care practices (Admission Welcome, Bedside Shift Report, Medication Review, Discharge Wrap Up, etc.)
- Lead shift huddles, identify high-risk patients, and communicate with leadership on escalated concerns
- Promote respect, compassion, and active listening in all patient and family interactions
Quality, Safety & Compliance:
- Create and maintain a safe, efficient, patient-centered care environment
- Lead RCA (Root Cause Analysis) investigations and corrective action plans for safety/quality concerns
- Foster a just culture encouraging error and near-miss reporting
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary teams aligned with high reliability principles
- Ensure compliance with institutional safety, quality, and documentation standards
- Monitor staff competencies, mandatory training, and regulatory compliance
Leadership & Staff Engagement:
- Provide consistent, meaningful feedback and coaching to nursing staff
- Interpret patient experience data and share progress with staff to drive improvements
- Empower staff to apply evidence-based practices and enhance patient perceptions of care
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize care delivery
- Supervise, mentor, and develop staff, reinforcing Mount Sinai's professional practice standards
