Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Team ManagerDepartment: Respiratory TherapyReports To: Director of Respiratory Services / Clinical DirectorJob Type: Full-timeLocation: Central IndianaJob Summary:The Respiratory Therapist Team Manager oversees the daily operations of the respiratory therapy team to ensure high-quality patient care and adherence to clinical standards. This leadership role combines clinical expertise with administrative responsibilities, including staff supervision, performance improvement, resource management, and interdepartmental coordination.Key Responsibilities:Leadership & Supervision:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the respiratory therapy team, including scheduling, performance evaluations, and staffing needs
- Provide clinical guidance, mentorship, and training to respiratory therapists and support staff
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and professional standards
Clinical Operations:
- Oversee the delivery of respiratory care to patients across all applicable units
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
- Participate in clinical rounds and assist with complex procedures when necessary
Administrative Duties:
- Monitor departmental productivity and quality metrics; develop improvement initiatives where needed
- Manage inventory, equipment maintenance, and supply ordering
- Maintain documentation, compliance, and reporting for accreditation and regulatory bodies
Quality Improvement & Compliance:
- Participate in or lead quality assurance programs and audits
- Promote adherence to infection control and patient safety guidelines
- Stay updated on new respiratory therapy techniques, equipment, and best practices
Education & Training:
- Coordinate continuing education and competency training for the respiratory team
- Support onboarding and orientation of new team members
Qualifications:Required:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy (Bachelor's preferred)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRC
- Active state Respiratory Care Practitioner license
- Minimum of 3-5 years clinical experience, with 1-2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
Preferred:
- Experience in a long-term care or long-term acute care setting
- BLS
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of operations, EMR systems, and respiratory equipment
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
