DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a Civil Engineer Supervisor, you will be responsible for directing the inspection of materials and workmanship on construction improvement projects within Engineering District 12 involving pavement reconstruction, bridge structures, and limited interchanges. All work is to be completed in accordance with approved construction plans, standards, specifications, and contract documents.
Within this role, you will apply sound engineering practices and principles to manage multiple construction projects and supervise the inspection of phases of complex projects from assignment to completion in a professional, timely, cost effective, and safe manner. You will function as the Inspector-In-Charge on highway construction projects including roadway pavement reconstruction, guiderail installation, flood control, and bridge rehabilitation and replacements. Excellent networking skills are employed to resolve or provide support in resolving issues requiring coordination with municipalities, private property or businesses, emergency services, railroads, authorities, utilities, and other construction projects. You will also oversee project documentation, material control and acceptance, contractor and consultant payments, project closeout procedures, and semi-final inspections.
