Responsible for all aspects of Cash Receipts inclusive of but not restricted to:
electronic and mail payments; payments paid in person; departmental cash funds; and petty cash fund.
Responsible for preparation of deposits to banks and assisting in reconciling same.
Responsibilities:
A. Cashiering
Open safes each morning and locks safes and secures keys each evening.
Coordinates receiving, accepting and reconciling HP24 bags from other departments including Dietary; Outpatient programs; Medical Records; etc.)
Prepares cash and checks for deposit.
Prepares bank manifest and coordinates pickup scheduling changes or cancellations.
Orders coins and bills by phone and through check request from bank, when necessary.
Process and reconciles EFT's with 835 remittances. Enroll with eligible payors for
EFT's and/or ERA's not currently established.
Processes and reconciles all payments including zero payments
Process and reconcile EOB's that include withholds and/or take backs .
Ensure receipt of Medicare and Medicaid weekly advance RA information.
Process any requests for Petty Cash under $25.00
Replenish Petty Cash by preparing a reconciliation of same and submitting to A/P for reimbursement.
Prepare Daily Schedule of Deposits report and distribute.
Maintains sufficient supply of all bank forms and tools.
Responsible for ordering and maintaining department supplies.
Responsible for securing in safe any patient valuables over $2,500 brought over by security
B. Lead Person
Training of all cashier functions and backup cashiers.
Ensures month end closing is complete.
Assists with any month end reconciliation questions from accounting.
Assists with any year end audit questions regarding cash.
Responsible for timely reconciliation of all Due-To accounts and the establishment of new due to accounts at year end or as needed.
Ensures that the cash fund drawer remains organized and reconciled.
C. Customer Service
Communicates and interacts with coworkers both within the Finance area and in other departments in a respectful and helpful manner, regardless of position or discipline.
Maintains availability and clear communication with patients/families/residents, other providers and third parties.
Responds to others' concerns in a sensitive manner.
Reports through appropriate channels potential behaviors, complaints, and concerns that present risk to the organization.

Displays a positive and professional; attitude during the execution of office responsibilities, interaction with co-workers and patients.
Attends all required department meetings as well as in-service training sessions as mandated by hospital policy.

Keeps the workplace safe, clean, uncluttered, and free of hazards.
Employee conducts herself/himself in conformity with HIPPA Compliance program and applicable facility policies and procedures for patient privacy.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent, required. Some college business credits, preferred.
Minimum two (2) years experience in banking, customer relations, accounting, or cashier office operations.
Good organization and communication skills required.
Must have attention to detail, be good with mathematics, have an aptitude for figures and an ability to problem solve. Computer literate with knowledge of excel.
Ability to communicate with patients and employees in a courteous and professional manner.

When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
The salary range for this position is $26-$26/hour
