Job Description:

Summary -The Director of Insurance Accounting plans, directs and administers the management, control, evaluation and reporting of the insurance accounting department.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Manage and oversee all insurance accounting and related reporting functions, including self-insurance reserves and the monthly close process

· Report to senior management on monthly / quarterly / annual financial results and significant accounting matters

· Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures and internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and SOX

· Provide accounting support to Risk Management

· Coordinate and collaborate with actuarial specialists, captive broker and claims system vendor 1

· Conduct in-depth financial analysis to provide insights for senior management and facilitate data-driven decision making

· Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals

· Coordinate and manage internal and external audit activities for the insurance area

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required Business Administration
  • Ten (10) years or more Experience in a Financial Accounting and Reporting environment of a publicly traded company required.
  • Ten (10) years or more Public Accounting experience at a manager level or equivalent industry experience required.
  • Ten (10) years or more experience in internal and external financial reporting, SEC and other regulatory reporting registration and filing requirements required.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Compensation Information:

The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type. Compensation ranges for the position are below:

Pay Type:

Salaried

Minimum Pay Range:

145,000

Maximum Pay Range:

165,000
