Machine Shop Manager

Our growing client is seeking a Machine Shop Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure production cycles are met from part design to fabrication. Hands-on experience with CNC and lathe programming is required for this full-time, direct-hire role.

Responsibilities of the Machine Shop Manager

• Plan, assign, and direct workflow of Machine Shop, providing expert technical support for all personnel (20-30 employees)
• Interview, hire, train, and motivate team; appraise performance and address issues
• Define manufacturing methodology with design, manufacturing, and process engineers
• Create CNC programs and holding fixtures
• Work with project management on new product development
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives for process and tooling
• Order and manage raw materials and consumable tools for machine shop
• Perform additional tasks and projects as required

Qualifications of the Machine Shop Manager

• 5+ years of relevant experience and Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Expert knowledge and hands-on experience with CNC/lathe machining and programming
• Continuous improvement experience is a plus
• Previous supervisory/leadership experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
