Position Summary:

We are seeking a dependable, professional, and tech-savvy Front Desk Receptionist to join our care team in Hummelstown, PA. Working in a psychiatric hospital setting, this role is key to creating a welcoming and organized front office environment for adult and geriatric patients. You will be the first point of contact for patients, families, and visitorsโ€”providing essential administrative support to clinical and nursing staff while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

๐Ÿ“… Schedule: Monday - Friday (Monday โ€“ Wednesday: 8:30 AM โ€“ 6:00 PM, Thursday: 9:00 AM โ€“ 5:30 PM, Friday: 9:00 AM โ€“ 1:00 PM)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and check in patients and visitors with warmth and professionalism
  • Answer incoming phone calls and direct them appropriately
  • Respond to emails and patient inquiries promptly
  • Verify insurance information and assist with intake paperwork
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
  • Manage appointment scheduling and calendar coordination
  • Handle incoming/outgoing mail and faxes
  • Utilize office technologies, including EMR systems, email platforms, and scheduling software
  • Keep the front office organized and support day-to-day administrative tasks

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ year of front desk or medical office experience preferred
  • Strong phone etiquette and customer service skills
  • Comfortable with technology, including Microsoft Office, email, and electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards
  • Friendly, calm, and professional under pressure
