We are urgently seeking two Contract Senior Mechanical Design Engineers and one Permanent Senior/Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client's Houston team immediately. They specialize in the design and development of Class III medical devices, changing lives for a better world.

Position Highlights
End-to-End Product Development
- Lead concept-to-launch development of surgical clips, access catheters, and implantable monitoring devices.
- Drive design verification, validation, and successful transfer to manufacturing.
Fixture, Tooling, and Test Design
- Develop custom fixtures, tools, and test systems to improve yields and reduce scrap.
- Hands-on prototyping and mechanical design for manufacturing support.
Design for Manufacturability & Assembly (DFMA)
- Lead design reviews ensuring robustness and manufacturability.
- Collaborate with vendors to fabricate, test, and refine prototypes.
Implantable & Electromechanical Systems
- Design implantable catheters and mechanical subassemblies.
- Apply mechanical simulations and FEA for validation of complex systems.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with systems, electrical, manufacturing, regulatory, and clinical teams.
- Translate voice-of-customer requirements into practical design solutions.
Design Controls & Regulatory Alignment
- Work within ISO 13485 and FDA-regulated environments.
- Skilled in DFMEA, impact assessments, documentation, and auditing.
Advanced CAD & Modeling
- Expert in SolidWorks and Fusion 360.
- Convert legacy 2D drawings into fully specified 3D models.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
- 5+ years of hands-on mechanical design experience in Class II/III implantable devices.
- Strong background in fixtures, tooling, prototyping, and DFMA.
- Expertise with SolidWorks and FEA.
- Knowledge of ISO 13485, design controls, and regulated documentation.
- Excellent collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
