Job Summary and QualificationsThe Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs a variety of diagnostic procedures using radioactive materials to image the body. This role involves direct patient care, ensuring safety, and collaborating with physicians to deliver high-quality, compassionate care.
Position ResponsibilitiesPerforms all Nuclear Medicine procedures, ensuring the highest quality of care and patient safety.
Informs patients about procedures and answers any questions they may have.
Communicates with physicians for additional directives when necessary.
Accurately logs all work and isotopes.
Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, and treatment, providing age-appropriate care for all patients.
Properly operates equipment, including the GE Infinia camera and workstation, GE Discovery Cardiac Camera, GE Case Stress equipment, and Synapse (PACS).
Participates in Radiation Safety and Performance Improvement (PI) meetings and plans.
Demonstrates proper handling of radioactive isotopes and ensures radiation safety.
Exhibits strong interpersonal skills and is a team player within the department and hospital.
Handles hazardous medications in accordance with TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center's Hazardous Drug Policy, following all risk mitigation strategies.
Graduation from an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine or Radiologic Technology.
Current registration as a CNMT and/or ARRT-NM.
Current BLS certification is required upon hire.
A minimum of 1 year of post-graduate experience strongly preferred.
If not registered, must obtain registration within 12 months of hire to maintain the position.
