This position performs duties in support of the departments grounds maintenance operations. MAJOR DUTIES - Assists with grounds maintenance activities; mows grass, cut weeds, clears brush, and rakes leaves. Plants trees, flowers, and shrubs; trims trees and shrubs. Collects litter from campus grounds; empties trash cans. Moves office furniture; assists with setting up for special events. Captures and relocates nuisance animals. Applies herbicide and pesticide. Operates a variety of equipment including a backhoe and dump truck. Operates hand and power tools, including chain saws, weedeaters, and lawn mowers. Cleans up storm damage. Assists with snow removal operations. Loads and unloads trucks. Transports materials and equipment to work sites. Provides support to other maintenance personnel. Performs related duties as assigned.
