The Packaging Engineer executes solutions on packaging design and usage and related safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Additional Info:This position requires the candidate to work a 5 day-a-week schedule in the Champaign, IL office. Relocation Offered: None. Sponsorship Offered: None. What You Will Do: Establish packaging and processing specifications at the part number level for new product introductions, cost savings, or other supply chain opportunities. Communicate with existing facilities on packaging issues. Perform cost analysis on current packaging processes and recommend changes where appropriate. Lead Green Belt projects. Review packaging so parts are protected, shipped, and delivered to the customer in a usable fashion. Design for transport efficiency. Perform containerization analysis, testing, and quoting. Validate new packaging and containers during pilot phase. Coordinate with operations for storage and ergonomic considerations. Develop kitting packaging.
