POSITION SUMMARY: · A Histology Technician's role is to perform routine and complex histology procedures utilized in pathology diagnosis. · Pathology results aid clinical practitioners in confirming or ruling out diagnoses, monitoring chronic disease states, and analyzing the effects of medical therapies. EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED: · Vocational / Technical from an accredited institution OR 2 year / Associate Degree from an accredited institution required · 4 year/Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution preferred LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: · Florida Licensure as Clinical Laboratory Technician / Supervisor EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED: · 1-3 years preferred HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital is a 238-bed acute care hospital.
