The Medical Assistant Learner performs medical assistant tasks and responsibilities while studying toward a Medical Assistant Diploma, within limits of current training; work is guided and overseen by a Lead Medical Assistant and Clinic Manager. May assist Physician and Advanced Practice Professional with procedures and treatments as trained and directed. This position may perform some administrative duties including patient check in and out, scheduling referrals and follow-ups, filling out forms, mailing correspondence, obtaining signatures, and directing phone calls. The Medical Assistant Learner is responsible for adhering to all safety standards, policies, procedures, and practice guidelines, promoting teamwork with all members of the health care team, maintaining complete, timely and accurate clinical documentation for each patient while continually looking for opportunities to improve processes and workflow.
