Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. This role involves the collection of blood and other fluid samples from patients in both hospital and outpatient settings. The ideal candidate will be experienced in venipuncture, patient identification protocols, and sample handling. A strong focus on patient comfort, safety, and accuracy is essential.
Key Responsibilities - Organize daily workflow and prioritize sample collection based on urgency.
- Accurately identify patients using proper documentation and verification methods.
- Select appropriate venipuncture techniques based on patient age, condition, and procedure type.
- Reassure and guide patients through the sample collection process, ensuring their comfort.
- Locate suitable veins and perform blood draws using sterile techniques and equipment.
- Ensure samples meet quality and quantity requirements for testing.
- Properly label and transport specimens to the laboratory for analysis.
- Answer patient inquiries and provide clear, supportive information as needed.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of samples collected and tests conducted.
Required Qualifications - Minimum 2 years of experience in both hospital and outpatient settings.
- Certified Phlebotomist with up-to-date credentials.
- Fully vaccinated in accordance with current healthcare regulations.
- Proficiency in venipuncture and specimen collection procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications (if any) - Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Bilingual communication skills.
- Familiarity with additional specimen types (e.g., urine, saliva, stool).
Certifications (if any) Required: Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent Required: Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination Preferred: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification Certification: Basic Life Support , Certified Phlebotomy Technician
