About the Position

At CVS Health, our product data science team is at the forefront of leveraging advanced analytics and healthcare expertise to drive product innovation. We focus on improving Aetna's health plans and programs by tailoring services to meet the clinical needs of members, all while aiming for better quality care at a competitive price.

As the Lead Data Scientist for Product Advancement, you will collaborate with diverse experts across the organization to design and expand health plan recommendation systems. Your role will involve tackling crucial strategic questions such as identifying the most appealing plans for our customers and developing effective metrics for new health plan benefits.

Your contributions will span building production-grade pricing models, executing online A/B testing, and utilizing experimentation to enhance health plan offerings. In this leadership role, you will not only build and guide technical strategy but also mentor fellow team members.

Your Responsibilities

Ideal Candidate Attributes

• Proven experience in building and launching machine learning models within widely-used products, particularly in the field of personalization and recommendation systems.
• A desire to engage in innovative data science practices with a tangible operational impact.
• A passion for innovation and a preference for working on small, collaborative teams that encourage autonomy.

Required Experience

• 6+ years of experience in developing impactful machine learning/AI solutions and bringing them to production.
• 6+ years of programming expertise in Python and SQL.
• 6+ years of experience using version control (e.g., git, CI/CD).
• 3+ years of experience with recommendation systems (content filtering, collaborative filtering, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience building sophisticated and scalable personalization or recommendation engines.
• Experience in industries like Insurance, Healthcare, Retail, or Tech, successfully creating products that enhance acquisition, retention, upsell, and cross-sell efforts.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Experience in cloud computing platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Microsoft Azure.
• Knowledge of experimental design approaches including A/B testing, randomized controlled trials, and factorial design.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.

Compensation Details

The typical pay range for this position is: $144,200.00 - $288,400.00. The offered salary will depend on a range of factors including experience, education, geography, and other relevant qualifications. This position also includes eligibility for a CVS Health bonus and the potential for equity in the company.
