Job Summary
The Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse provides specialized care to patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum stages. This role requires strong clinical skills, compassion, and the ability to respond quickly in critical situations. The nurse will work closely with obstetricians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective care for mothers and newborns.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patients during labor and delivery.
- Administer medications and manage pain relief as prescribed.
- Assist with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections.
- Provide postpartum care and education to patients and families.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and progress.
- Respond to obstetric emergencies and initiate appropriate interventions.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of Kentucky or compact state.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Strong clinical judgment and communication skills.
- Ability to work night shifts and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- NRP and STABLE certifications.
- Experience in travel nursing.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems.
Working Conditions
