About this Position

ChristianaCare is searching for a Leave Specialist to be responsible for the delivery, comprehensive administration, and coordination of employee time away from work programs. This includes managing Short-Term Disability (STD), Long-Term Disability (LTD), Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML), Paid Sick/Safe Leave (SSL), Paid Time Off (PTO), Disability Leave Account (DLA), and Time Away from Practice (TAP). This role ensures adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal company policies, while providing empathetic and knowledgeable support to employees throughout their leave experience.

Desired candidates should possess....

  • Excellent customer service skills and
  • Vendor management experience
  • Experience with multi—state Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) is strongly preferred

Schedule - This is a hybrid position with a combination of in-office and remote work. Will be discussed during recruiting process.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

Implement and coordinate design components for service level agreements and business requirements. Leads proper system configuration of PTO, DLA, TAP, and SSL. Ensures accurate integrations for STD, LTD, and PFML plans with third-party vendors.

Ensure time away from work paid benefits are within compliance with laws such as FMLA, ADA, and state-specific leave mandates.

Coordinate with third-party vendors for disability and family leave claims, including case issues, statuses, timely payments, and service level agreements are met. Support employees through the process with clarity and empathy.

Develop, update, advise, counsel, and educate employees and leaders on paid benefit policies, procedures, processes, and programs. Research and remain aware of changes in applicable laws, and consults to remain compliant.

Produces and manages reporting metrics and analytics for all leave and benefit programs when needed.

Assist and support the facilitation of all medical information when needed and ensure that HIPAA and Employee Privacy guidelines are effectively executed. Must comply with all HIPAA rules regarding authorized use, training, storage, and destruction of PHI.

Collaborates with other Center of Excellences (COEs) including Benefits, Compensation, Payroll, Caregiver Transactions, and Shared Services to ensure data and other relevant information and communications produce the best possible employee experience.

Education and experience requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.

2-4 years of experience managing employee leave programs or benefits administration

Knowledge of federal and state leave laws and disability programs

2 or more years of process flow design and maintenance

Experience with multi-state or unionized environments

Familiarity with HRIS systems and payroll practices related to leave tracking

CLMS and/or CPDM Certification preferred

Excellent customer service skills, ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with multiple teams.
