JOB TITLE: Receptionist, Full-time (M-F) DEPARTMENT: Belleville Medical Clinic JOB RELATIONSHIPS: Reports: Responsible to: Republic County Hospital Business Manager, Clinic Nurse Manager Responsible for: Does not supervise other employees Interrelationships: Works cooperatively with all clinic and hospital departments, medical staff, patients, and visitors. JOB SUMMARY: This is a full-time position unless otherwise negotiated and documented). Greet patients at the receptionist front desks, verifies demographic and insurance information, has patients fill out required forms, schedules appointments, interacts with nursing staff for patient care needs, answers phones from the operator/office assistant to schedule patients, and maintains emergency preparedness folders. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Experience:

  • Previous experience in a clinic or health care facility is preferred.
  • Knowledge in medical software preferred.
Education:
  • High school graduate or equivalent. (Must be 18 years of age.)

JOB DUTIES:
  • Performs office duties including: opening and closing clinic.
  • Answering incoming patient calls from operator
  • Complete patient registrations in a timely manner
  • Answer simple billing questions, or request billing department assistance for patients.
  • Assists with department documentation, including daily organization and filing.
  • Assures compliance with established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, continuous quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Cooperates with other clinic and hospital personnel to maintain good employee relations and meet all department objectives.
  • Communicates clearly and accurately with patients, families, physicians and co-workers.
  • Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with clinic and hospital standards.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, in-services, meetings, etc.
  • Attends and represents the department at appropriate meetings, as requested by Clinic Manager.
  • Performs tasks to maintain the department in orderly condition.
  • Maintains CONFIDENTIALITY of all information.
  • Assures that the patient/resident's rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property, civil rights, including the right to wage complaints, are well established and maintained at all times.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Occasionally exposed to the risk of blood borne diseases.
  • Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances.
  • Occasionally exposed to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries and illness)
  • Subject to varying and unpredictable situations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
