Position Laundry Aide DescriptionPART TIME 5 PM-11 PMMiracle Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is looking to hire a Laundry Aide in Tallahassee, Florida. The Laundry Aide performs day-to-day laundry functions to insure that an adequate supply of fresh laundry/linen supplies are maintained in facility linen closets. Give particular care to resident laundry, pressing/ironing garments as needed.This position is vital to providing direct care to the residents.
  • Collect/sort soiled laundry, linen, garments, etc., and place in appropriate containers or assigned areas.
  • Sort soiled laundry, linen, garments, etc. and separate those items that require special stain removal/treatment.
  • Sort, count, and wash soiled laundry, linen, garments, etc., in accordance with established procedures.
  • Loads and unloads washers and dryers.
  • Press/iron garments as necessary.
  • Labels residents' personal laundry and linens as directed.
  • Delivers personal clothing to the appropriate resident and/or storage area.
  • Cleans dryer filters as necessary.
  • Fold, count, stack, hang, and distribute clean laundry, linen, garments, etc. to residents daily and/or as instructed.
  • Ensure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
  • Ensure equipment is cleaned and properly stored at the end of the shift.
  • Knock before entering a resident's room.
  • Ensure that the residents' personal and property rights are maintained by assigned personnel.
  • Ensure that refuse is disposed of daily and in accordance with established sanitation procedures.
  • Ensure that an adequate supply of laundry supplies is maintained to perform daily tasks; keep supervisor informed of supply need.
  • Ensure that an adequate supply of clean linen is maintained in linen closets.
  • Clean work and supply carts, equipment, etc., as necessary.
  • Perform day-to-day laundry functions as assigned.
  • Performs other related assignments as required.

Full-Time/Part-Time Part-Time Number of Openings 1 Position Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED preferred.
  • Laundry Aide experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of laundry care and maintenance and ability to anticipate laundry needs.
  • Passion for caring for elderly.
  • Pleasant and cheerful personality.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively (written and oral form) in a care setting with residents, families, staff.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, to follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism.
  • Able to respond productively and to handle additional tasks/projects as assigned.
  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
  • Tactful and Courteous approach with residents, family members, staff, and visitors.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Follow all policies/procedures and regulations.
