Description of Job This position will serve as a customer service representative at the CPW Fort Collins Service Center to assist members of the public with their inquiries and purchases. Customer service representatives represent CPW through excellent customer service and proper communication of accurate information to build constituent support and understanding of CPW and its mission. Primary job responsibilities include providing detailed information on a wide range of topics to CPW constituents in person, by phone, and electronically. Job responsibilities can include:
- Providing information on hunting for big game, small game, waterfowl, and turkey, fishing, visiting state parks, boating, and other outdoor recreational activities
- Selling CPW products such as hunting and fishing licenses, boat, OHV, and snowmobile registrations and permits, and park passes
- Interpreting CPW regulations, policies, and State Statutes
- Addressing nuisance wildlife concerns and providing information on co-existing with with wildlife
- Serving as the customer interface to wildlife officers by handling and dispatching public calls about wildlife violations, injured wildlife, and human-wildlife conflicts
- Filling Hunter Education Class supply orders
- Performing Chronic Wasting Disease and Mandatory checks on hunter harvested animals
- Stocking regulation and educational brochures
- Sorting mail and other office administrative duties
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights Minimum Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have a current & valid drivers' license and/or reliable transportation
- The work-site will provide some uniform items, however the employee may be required to purchase limited uniform items at their own expense.
- Applicants may be subject to successful completion of a comprehensive background check.
- Must be willing and able to work 40 hours per week.
- Must be available to work Monday thru Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
- Previous experience handling money and working with the public preferred.
- Possess strong interpersonal communication skills to deliver excellent customer service.
- Basic computer skills required (MS Office Suite, Google App Suite)
- Ability to work well within a team.
- Must be willing and able to work outside which may involve inclement weather.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors of Science in Natural Resources, Fish, Wildlife, or Conservation Biology, Environmental Science, or other natural resources related field
- Experience in customer service
- Experience with or knowledge of hunting, fishing, wildlife, camping, and the Northern Colorado area
- Experience working with the general public in person, by phone, and email
- Familiarity with Colorado Parks and Wildlife's website
- Possess a strong knowledge of computer fundamentals including Google Suite
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced setting
