This is a Health Support Technician in the School Health program that provides direct and indirect services primarily in a school setting according to the Florida School Health Administrative Guidelines. This position is under the supervision of the Senior Community Health Nursing Supervisor. The incumbent will provide direct and indirect nursing support services to the students being served by the comprehensive School health program through the Hardee County Health Department. Provides support to the RN/ CHN assigned to school keeping him/her apprised of daily activities and concerns. The incumbent determines the purpose of student health room visits including taking vital signs, providing first aid, and refers to appropriate professional staff as needed. Serves as a liaison between school nurse, faculty, and family members. Provides proper documentation of health room visits including completion of individual student treatment plans.
