The Registered Nurse provides individualized, goal directed nursing care through the use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing, in accordance with center policies and procedures. Carries out all duties while maintaining compliance and confidentiality and promoting the mission and philosophy of the organization. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Responsible for all activities associated with the delivery of quality nursing practices and duties assigned to this role. Prepares the patient care area adequately, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available. Performs and documents head to toe assessment of patient upon arrival to PACU. Assesses and maintains integrity of dressings and/or operative site. Reports abnormalities to the surgeon. Demonstrates proper airway management techniques. Monitors patients according to policy (vitals, airway, LOC, temperature, cardiac etc.). Exhibits proper technique for IV catheter insertion, maintenance and removal.
