Key Accountabilities:

As a Scrum Master at Aspen Insurance in Rocky Hill, CT, you will play an essential role in guiding Agile squads through every stage of project delivery. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve facilitating Scrum ceremonies that foster open communication among team members while ensuring alignment with business objectives. You will champion the adoption of standardized practices across squads by leveraging automation frameworks in line with enterprise strategies. By defining meaningful KPIs for your teamsand using these insights to drive continuous improvementyou will help maximize productivity while maintaining high standards of quality. Your ability to organize resources efficiently ensures that IT components are delivered on time and according to requirements. Through regular mentoring sessions and hands-on support, you will empower teams to embrace agile methodologies fully. Youll also collaborate closely with stakeholders such as Product Owners and Tech Leads on backlog management activities. Your proactive approach in identifying risks or impediments allows you to address challenges before they escalateensuring smooth project execution throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies for Agile squads, ensuring each event runs smoothly and supports team progress towards shared objectives.
• Champion the adoption of standardized delivery practices and automation frameworks across multiple squads, aligning with the Factory Model using Agile/DevOps principles and enterprise tooling strategies.
• Define and track squad-level key performance indicators related to automation coverage, process adherence, and standardization maturity; use these metrics to identify areas for improvement and report progress to leadership.
• Take responsibility for the successful delivery of all IT components within assigned squads by organizing resources effectively to meet business needs.
• Apply agile methodology values, principles, and practices to plan, manage, and deliver high-quality solutions that align with organizational goals.
• Provide training, mentoring, and support to scrum squads so they can fully embrace agile values, principles, and best practices in their daily work.
• Identify tasks, issues, risks, and action items; manage them proactively to minimize disruption and maintain momentum within the team.
• Schedule and facilitate scrum events, meetings, and decision-making processes that encourage open communication and effective problem-solving.
• Monitor progress and performance of squads while helping them implement improvements that enhance customer value and product quality.
• Partner with key stakeholdersincluding Product Owners and Tech Leadsin backlog prioritization, capacity management, refinement activities, and tracking/reporting relevant metrics.

Skills & Experience:

To excel as a Scrum Master you bring proven experience guiding Agile teams through complex projects while fostering an atmosphere built on trust and mutual respect. Your educational background provides a solid foundation for understanding technical concepts relevant to software development initiatives. With several years spent managing or coaching cross-functional teamsideally within insurance or financial servicesyou have developed keen insight into what drives successful project outcomes. Your certification as a Scrum Master reflects your commitment to upholding industry standards while adapting methodologies pragmatically based on real-world scenarios. Proficiency with tools like Azure DevOps means you can streamline processes without sacrificing quality or transparency. • Bachelors degree is required for this position
• A minimum of three years experience as a Scrum Master, Agile Project Delivery Manager or Release Train Engineer equips you with practical insights into leading cross-functional teams.
• Certified Scrum Master credentials (CSM, PSM, SSM or CSP) are essential as they validate your understanding of industry-standard Agile practices.
• Proficiency in Azure DevOps software enables you to manage workflows efficiently within modern development environments.
• Experience within the insurance industry is preferred as it provides valuable context for navigating sector-specific challenges.
• Experience with prior cloud projects is preferred as it enhances the ability to guide Agile teams effectively on new cloud-based application development, best practices, and risk management
• Working knowledge of agile methodologiesincluding techniques such as Scrum or Kanbanensures you can adapt best practices to suit evolving project needs.
• A strong understanding of the software development lifecycle allows you to anticipate dependencies between technical tasks while supporting timely delivery.
• Excellent interpersonal skills enable you to build trusting relationships with team members and stakeholders alike.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor others fosters a culture of learning where everyone feels supported in their professional growth.
