Job Details- Registered Nurse role in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) specializing in post anesthesia/recovery for general surgery, plastics, pain management, endoscopy, colonoscopy, and vascular cases.
- Minimum 2 years experience in Post Anesthesia Care required.
- Patient population includes adult and geriatric patients.
- Common procedures include pain injections, eye surgeries, EGD, colonoscopy, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, wound debridement, port insertion/removal, plastics including breast implants and implant removal, AV grafts, fistulogram, tunnel catheters.
- Float requirements include assisting in pre/post op care in Daysurgery.
Job Requirements- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS.
- PALS certification preferred.
- Associates Degree required.
Schedule Information- Shift from 6:00 am until cases are completed.
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36.
- No weekend hours.
- Call requirements: late stay (3-5) Monday-Thursday, no scheduled cases after 5 pm daily.
Unit Specific Information- Facility Department/Cost Center: Post Anesthesia Care Unit.
- Role: Registered Nurse.
- Specialty: Post Anesthesia/Recovery for general surgery, plastics, pain management, endoscopy, colonoscopy, and vascular cases.
- Supervisor: Not included due to sensitive information removal.
- Patient population: Adult and geriatric.
- Number of beds: 4 in PACU.
- Patient ratios: 1:2.
- Equipment: Accucheck, Spacelab monitoring, suction.
- EHR system: OR Manager transitioning from Picis to Meditech.
- Float requirements: May float to Daysurgery to assist in pre/post op care.
