Job Description: Registered Nurse - MS/Tele
Location: Rochester ,NY 14621-3099Contract Duration: 13 weeksShift: Day, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) with 3 weeks of nights / Weekends: Every other weekend
Weekly Breakdown:
Weekly Gross: $2,118.00 Per Week
On W2(Taxable): $648.00 Per Week
Stipend(Non-Taxable): $1,470.00 Per Week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care on the MS/Tele unit, managing a patient ratio of 1:5 on days, 1:6 on nights, and 1:5 on weekends.
- Perform patient assessments, administer medications, and manage IV therapy including central and peripheral lines, PICC lines, and starting IVs.
- Manage and care for patients requiring telemetry monitoring, cardiac devices (pacemakers, temporary and permanent), and complex wound care including wound vacs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
- Float to other units as required, including ortho trauma and total joint replacement units.
- Adhere to hospital isolation precautions, respiratory management protocols, and emergency response procedures.
Requirements
- Current NY Registered Nurse license must be in hand at time of submission.
- Minimum 2 years RN experience with at least 1 year charge nurse experience.
- Experience with EPIC electronic charting system (required).
- Patient care experience with a 1:6 ratio.
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred but first-time travelers accepted.
- BLS certification required.
- Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, PICC line management, and respiratory care preferred.
Work Environment
- Medical-Surgical and Telemetry Unit with 39 beds and a daily census of approximately 38 patients.
- Adult and geriatric patient populations.
- Collaborative interdisciplinary support teams available.
Must live outside a 75-mile radius from Rochester General Hospital.
